Announcements & Commitments:
- Product Roadmap: 3 main sets plus 2 premium sets planned through 2027
- Independence: MetaZoo has reclaimed the IP from GQL and is operating independently (with GQL as consultants)
- Operations: Acquired a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse and artist studio in Southlake, TX
- Hiring: Recruiting in Texas for Senior Marketing, Graphic Design, and Analyst roles
- Lower Pricing: Booster Packs ($3.99 MSRP); Booster Boxes ($94.99 on the official website)
- Organized Play: Launches Aug 1, including a $10,000 winner-take-all event at Legends Expo (Aug. 2026)
- MetaZoo Classic: Side events planned, with winners receiving a Kickstarter Booster Box
- Earned Rarities: Serialized cards in prize packs are earned through play and will never be sold in retail products
- Digital Tools: MetaZooTCG.com includes a card database, deck builder, and Caster IDs
- Box Toppers: Future releases will feature box toppers. Alt-Art boxes will not be used going forward.
Future & Exploratory Initiatives
- MetaZoo Classic Printing: Exploring printing of Legacy and War sets, potentially in 2027+
- Format Integration: Considering allowing MetaZoo Classic cards in the new format if demand is sufficient
- Fourth Wall Effects: Exploring balanced ways to reintroduce Fourth Wall effects
- Online Client: Casters Cup Online targeted for Q4 2026
- Market Growth: Working toward TCGplayer listings and a dedicated Whatnot category, and Collectr App
- Collaborations: Open to partnerships (e.g. Topps), though discussions remain early-stage
Community & Artist Initiatives
- Artist Support: $1,000 scholarships for artists to use for art supplies or lessons
- Fan Art Contest: Returns, with winning entries becoming official MetaZoo cards. Participation cards for everyone
- Partner Program: Stores receive guaranteed allocations, discounted prices, and exclusive promo cards
- “How to Play” Challenge: Top five instructional videos receive Booster Boxes and special prizes
